Get To Know our flowers
If you've visited the farm, you've walked the runway. Our flower beds run alongside the field and benefit the table, the body, and the surrounding soil.
Here is what is growing and what to expect as we ramp up production and bouquet offerings:
Celosía — Edible leaves and flowers. High in iron and vitamin C. A companion crop that attracts beneficial insects to the field.
Butterfly Pea — The flower that turns your drink blue and shifts to purple with citrus. Rich in anthocyanins — same antioxidant family as blueberries.
Calendula — Anti-inflammatory skin healer and a natural pest repellent that protects neighboring crops.
Amaranth — Every part is edible. The seeds are a complete protein. Grown tall, it shades and shelters the beds around it.
Dara (Wild Carrot) — A magnet for parasitic wasps and hoverflies that keep pest pressure down naturally.
Strawflower — Dries perfectly without losing color. Long shelf life in arrangements and no water needed once dry.
Nasturtiums — Fully edible — flowers, leaves, and seeds. Peppery flavor. A natural trap crop that lures aphids away.
Cosmos — Fast-growing, self-seeding, and a consistent food source for pollinators from spring through fall.
Marigolds — Nematode suppression in the soil, aphid deterrent above it, and edible petals that are high in lutein for eye health.
Zinnias — Butterfly habitat and a long vase life.
